Verica Kikanovic has been part of the Professional Institute of Massage Therapy family since 2010. Previously trained in Massage Therapy at the Open University of Novi Sad-Serbia, Verica came to Canada to find out her credentials were not recognized. She then joined our Saskatoon Campus as a student in our Advanced Massage Therapy program. After being incredibly successful in the program, she worked in Alberta at a variety of clinics including Optimal Therapies at Mount Royal University.
Verica joined us in 2016 at the Calgary campus and has been such a wonderful part of our program. She presently teaches our Year One practical classes including therapeutic exercise, assessment and hydrotherapy.
Verica has taken post-graduate courses in Dynamic Cupping, Myofascial Release in Sports Medicine, Dynamica and Postural Reflex Pattern Integration and Ligamentous Articular Strain Techniques.
Amanda Bach has been with us in Calgary since 2014. As owner – operator of Dragonfly Wellness since 2010, Amanda is a wonderful asset for our Second Year students. A graduate of Mount Royal’s Massage Therapy program, Amanda then went on to become formally trained in Thai Massage through Thai Yoga International.
Amanda is one of our Year Two Practical Instructors. She also acts as one of our clinic supervisors. Her outgoing personality and enthusiasm is infectious to all who come near her. We love her outgoing personality!
Jovana Zivanovic is another Instructor with a great story! After deciding dental college was not what she wanted to pursue, Jovana attended our Calgary Campus, graduating near the top of her class.
Jovana is so hard working that we have involved her in many different tasks at the Calgary Institute. She covers the Academic Year One and Two classes, is a Year Two Practical Instructor and also serves as a Clinic Supervisor.
Jovana has been with us since 2016. We love her knowledge, her attention to detail and her dedication to the students.
Rob Thomas is the President of Professional Institute of Massage Therapy and the Administrator at the Calgary Campus. After finishing a Kinesiology degree at the University of Saskatchewan, Rob went on to graduate from the very first class at Professional Institute of Massage Therapy. After teaching at the Institute for less than a year, Rob loved the Institute so much that he became an owner!
Rob also operated one of the first “retail” massage clinics in Saskatoon. At a time when home based massage clinics were the norm, Rob opened a professional, street-front clinic that specialized in sports massage and motor vehicle accident injury. Rob was the massage therapist for the “Saskatoon Storm” professional basketball team and had a long list of elite amateur and professional athletes as his clients.
After running the Saskatoon Institute for a number of years, Rob moved to Calgary to open the Calgary campus.
